2008 Workshop Schedule

Workshop Details at bottom of page

April 6-10 - Charleston, SC
$795, limit 10

This is a wonderful historic city with numerous photo venues. We'll be spending our time photographing historic Charleston architecture and the famous Batterie Park, full of red azalea along the waterfront, to Magnolia Gardens, where the explosions of colorful flowers, huge magnolia trees, and bald cyprus swamps signal the beginning of spring time. We'll also visit Cypress Gardens, where the movie "The Patriot" was made!

April 20-24 - Great Smoky Mountains, TN
$795, limit 12

This is the first of two consecutive workshops in the Smokies. This time frame should place us in the Smokies when dogwood are in bloom and the streams are beginning to run fully. Also, early spring skies can be quite dramatic. Spring wildflowers are beginning to bloom, and we wouldn't be surprised if there is spring snow and hoar frost covering the mountain tops! There are layered mountain ridges and photogenic old historic settlements.

April 27-May 1 - Great Smoky Mountains, TN

$795, limit 12

During this time frame, the dogwood is beginning to fade, but wildflowers are more prolific. The streams are running a bit stronger. Warmer days and cool nights create low lying crisp ground fog in Cades Cove and Roaring Fork. The trees are beginning to fill with early spring lime green colored leaves. This is the best time for digital infrared and for colorful spring reflections!

                                  with master printer Jim White

Jim will demonstrate how to set-up a color-managed workflow, how to generate and print from an icc profile, and discuss and demonstrate printing with a RIP. There will be daily critique sessions and each student will leave with at least 2 fine art prints printed on fine art paper. You will also receive a one-on-one session with Jim to address specific color management, editing, and printing issues.
